Why Aren’t Male Sex Toys More Popular?

There are so many different stores where you can buy some toys to spice up your sex life or simply make masturbation more exciting for you. There are even a number of fantastic male sex toys out there specifically designed to pleasure your cock and make you feel amazing!

However, despite the number of toys out there for men to buy, they aren’t very popular. When you compare the sales to the female equivalent, they aren’t as high. People just don’t seem interested in buying sex toys for men… but why is this?

The stigma of sex toys

It used to be that women who used toys were judge heavily for it. They’d be referred to as lonely people who couldn’t get anyone to sleep with them, or even sexual deviants. The times have changed for women, but not really for men. Sure, there are more male sex toys on the market for you to buy, but buying them has people looking at you as though you have three heads.

When women talk about the toys they have in their bedside table it is perfectly acceptable. When men do it they are often ridiculed. Sex toys for women are perfectly acceptable, but toys for men are still seen as unusual.

The fact that men are heavily judged for using toys is frustrating. You want to be able to pleasure yourself in the bedroom with something other than your hand, and toys can really help. But buying toys isn’t the same for men as it is for women.

They don’t fulfil your needs

There are so many different toys for women with very specific needs they claim to fulfil. Some vibrators and dildos are designed to hit the g-spot and nothing else, which leads to an incredible and intense orgasm.

A number of the toys out there are be used by men or women to fulfil a need, but there aren’t many for men that fulfil the numerous needs men have in the bedroom. They seem to do really only one thing, which is stimulate your cock. For some this is the whole point of masturbation, but often they do so with the same motions you’d use by hand.

Cock rings might be a litle different. They slow the circulation of blood which gives you more intense erections and means you’ll enjoy one hell of an orgasm when it hits! But this is really the only stand out toy, and many would argue that it isn’t a toy but an aid. Masturbation sleeves are for you to fuck. They toys don’t really vary in that way. This means that your needs aren’t really fulfilled and you are left incredibly sexually frustrated.

Not enough toys

Another problem? There aren’t enough out there. Because the needs they fulfil are so singularly focused, you don’t get a great selection of male sex toys out there to choose from.

There just aren’t enough options, and the options you do have present you with the choice between buying the high end version or a budget toy. For many they’ll get the cheaper one simply to save their money.

The lack of choice for men makes it difficult to buy the perfect toy for you. Once you have bought one you might be left feeling as though you’ve tried them all. Is it such a bad thing to desire more male sex toys out there to choose from?

What’s wrong with male sex toys?

The issue isn’t just the stigma surrounding these toys. It is also the lack of choice or variety out there for people to choose from. Anyone looking for male sex toys will find that those tailored specifically to the needs of men seem to be the same… while the more diverse toys are for anyone to use, regardless of gender.

So how do we fix it? Well, for most people they simply get a little more inventive when it comes to using toys. They’ll create different ways to jerk off to get the best feelings.
